USD Alum Col. Kenneth Tauke to deliver Farber Forum on Oct. 2

Col. Kenneth Tauke, a graduate of the University of South Dakota, will present “Developing Leadership and Leadership in Transition” at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Farber Hall, Old Main.

Presented by the W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership and the USD Political Science League, the lecture is free and open to the public and will address leadership development and leadership in a time of crisis or transition.

Tauke, the recipient of two Bronze Star Awards, entered the United States Army in 1983 as a private in the Military Police Corps. Following the completion of his enlistment, Tauke attended USD and enrolled in the Army Reserve Officer Training Corp and was commissioned after graduating from USD in 1989. He is transitioning to be the Division Chief, Joint Security Office, Forward, USCENTCOM at Al Udeid, Qatar.

His civilian education includes two master’s degrees, one in political science and one in speech communication, as well as a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice – all from USD. Tauke’s military education includes Command General Staff College, Airborne School, Patrol Dog Handler School, Military Police AIT, Primary Leadership Development Course and Special Reaction Team Training.

He and his wife, Wendy, have five children and currently reside in Fort Leavenworth, KS.
