“Which Came First? Beethoven or the Instrument?”

Join us for a lively and informative tour at the National Music Museum, as Curator Deborah Check Reeves broadens the context for our monthly book selection, Beethoven’s Hair: An Extraordinary Historical Odyssey and a Scientific Mystery Solved, by Russell Martin. This short tour, held Thursday, October 17th at 3:00 pm, will enable viewers to look at the instruments of Beethoven’s day and learn more about how the technology influenced Beethoven’s music and vice versa. Discussion of Beethoven’s Hair will be led by Bruce Kelley on Wednesday, October 23rd at 7 pm at the Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library. Copies of the book are still available at the Library. The National Music Museum is located on Clark Street on the USD campus. Call the Library for more information on these events: 605-677-7060.
