Canton conquers Vermillion volleyball

By Scott Bormann

The first game of Thursday night made the fans expect that the host team would have a major blow-out against the C-Hawks, but first impressions can be deceiving. After the Tanagers won a completely one-sided Game 1 by 22 points, and a 6-point victory in Game 2, there may have shown a lack of killer instinct by the Vermillion team.

Canton came back to win close games in games 3, 4, and 5 to take the victory. Canton won by 3 points, 4 points, and 2 points for an extended fifth game. This was a hard-fought battle, that had the Tanagers coming up just a little bit short.

Catch the volleyball team next at Dakota Valley at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. After that, they travel to Elk Point-Jefferson on Halloween at 5 p.m.
