09/29/13 09:08 – A deputy investigated a report of a vehicle that received extensive damage by vandals while parked along the highway south of Vermillion. The matter is under investigation.
09/30/13 07:25 – A deputy assisted a Vermillion Police Officer with the investigation of a hit and run accident in Vermillion.
09/30/13 08:42 – A rural resident reported the theft of a pickup tailgate. A deputy investigated and learned that since it had been left leaning against a dumpster, a trash hauler picked it up and disposed of it.
09/30/13 14:01 – A rural resident reported a caller pretending to be a court employee in an attempt to scam the woman. No money or information was shared.
09/30/13 15:37 – Deputies responded to a phone alarms at a rural business and found no one present and no intrusion or problems.

09/30/13 20:04 – An inmate was transported to the Yankton County Jail and then another was picked up at the Charles Mix County Jail and transported back to the Clay County Jail.
10/01/13 11:03 – An inmate was transported to the Minnehaha County Jail after his Clay County charges were resolved and a juvenile was picked up at a Sioux Falls juvenile facility and brought to Clay County for a court appearance.
10/01/13 12:24 – A deputy received a report of harassing and threatening text messages. The matter is under investigation.
10/01/13 12:50 – The School Resource Officer located two truant girls. The information was forwarded to the States Attorney for consideration of delinquency charges.
10/01/13 23:21 – A deputy responded to a report of a semi stuck on railroad tracks. The driver was able to get the semi moved before any trains passed.
10/02/13 07:50 – A deputy responded to a report of a stray horse east of Vermillion. The owner was located and notified that the horse was out.
10/02/13 11:55 – A report was received of a 911 hang up call from a rural residence. It was found that 911 was dialed accidentally.
10/03/13 14:41 – A deputy investigated a report from a rural resident who was receiving threatening text messages.
10/03/13 14:54 – A deputy investigated an intentional damage report and served a protection order to one party involved. Charges are under consideration by the States Attorney.
10/03/13 14:58 – A deputy assisted the Highway Patrol with a crash investigation involving a semi and an SUV near Vermillion. There were no injuries.
10/03/13 18:14 – A woman was transported to the Human Services Center in Yankton for an involuntary mental health committal.
10/03/13 20:19 – A deputy assisted a Yankton County Deputy in an attempt to locate a runaway from Yankton who was thought to be in Wakonda. The boy was not found.
10/04/13 11:34 – A deputy investigated a two-vehicle non-injury accident involving farm equipment.
10/04/13 12:34 – A deputy responded to a report of cattle out on Bluff Road. The owner was contacted and informed of the problem.
10/04/13 15:24 – A deputy assisted a woman with concerns regarding a domestic dispute and answered questions about a protection order.
10/04/13 19:03 – A report was received of a 911 call from a rural residence. It was found that the call came from a child playing with a phone.
10/04/13 20:59 – A deputy served a protection order to a man in Wakonda.
10/04/13 21:53 – A deputy observed a vehicle in operation in Vermillion with a non-functioning headlight. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was notified of the problem.
10/04/13 23:01 – A deputy assisted other investigators with the investigation of an under aged house party in Vermillion. A search warrant was conducted.
10/05/13 00:59 – Deputies encountered an underage female who was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and was in possession of marijuana. The woman was arrested and transported to jail.
10/05/13 01:48 – Deputies participated in a Highway Patrol sobriety checkpoint and transported an arrestee to the jail for booking.
10/05/13 02:27 – Deputies responded to a report of construction cones and barrels displaced in a construction area west of Vermillion. The cones were re-set properly.
10/05/13 02:54 – Deputies assisted with a DWI checkpoint and transported arrestees to the jail for booking.
10/05/13 05:08 – A deputy received a report of a juvenile at a residence in Wakonda where he was not supposed to be. The boy’s father arrived and picked him up.
10/05/13 08:45 – Assistance was provided to the Vermillion Police Department for additional manpower during the Dakota Days parade in Vermillion.
10/05/13 20:53 – A deputy observed a vehicle operating with no headlights. The vehicle was stopped and the driver notified of the error.
10/05/13 22:22 – A caller reported cattle out on Highway 46. The owner was located and notified of the problem.
10/05/13 22:39 – A deputy stopped a vehicle and notified the driver that a headlight was non-functioning.
