Sanford Vermillion held its first Drive Thru flu vaccination clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Community members took advantage of this fast and convenient opportunity to get their annual flu vaccination. A total of 57 vehicles, three bicycles and a few pedestrians came through during the two-hour clinic. More than 115 individuals received their flu vaccine.

“The event went very well,” said Carol Lavin, Sanford Vermillion wellness nurse and flu shot clinic coordinator.

“We wanted to provide another option for flu shots this year,” Lavin said. “Participants were excited about this quick and easy way to get their vaccine. We had a great response with many positive comments about the format.”
