The 32nd annual Quad State Marching Band Competition was held Saturday, Oct. 19, in the DakotaDome on the University of South Dakota campus in Vermillion.

Quad State attracts bands from Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming and Minnesota. The majority of competitive field bands from the region attend, and the lineup annually features approximately 20 bands. The contest is hosted by the USD Department of Music and the University Band Program.

Winners of this year’s competition are:

1A

Outstanding Drum Majors – Crofton, NE

Second place – McCook Central

First place – Crofton, NE

2A

Outstanding Drum Majors – Sibley-Ocheyeden, IA

Second place – Pipestone (MN) Area

First place — Sibley-Ocheyeden, IA

3A

Outstanding Drum Majors – Brandon Valley

Second place – O’Gorman

First place – Brandon Valley

4A

Outstanding Drum Majors – Sioux City East

Second place – Sioux City North

First place – Sioux City East
