Final day for viewing Capitol Christmas Trees is Dec. 28

PIERRE – The decorated Christmas trees in the South Dakota Capitol will only be on display through Saturday of this week.

The display is open daily to the public from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Saturday, Dec. 28.

Representatives of organizations and communities who decorated the trees will return to Pierre on Sunday, Dec. 29, and Monday morning, Dec. 30, to take the trees down.

Organizations or groups with an interest in decorating the large state tree or community trees for next year, or providing entertainment and weekend displays, are encouraged to sign up at the Greeter’s Desk in the Capitol Rotunda or contact the Office of the Governor at 605-773-3212.
