01/12/14 15:40 – A vehicle was stopped for speeding at 74 mph in the 55 mph zone on University Road. The driver was cited for the offense.

01/13/14 07:46 – A deputy investigated a report of a Wakonda resident shooting a stray stud horse that had broken down his fence to gain access to his mare. The stud was aggressive toward the landowner and his geldings. Information was forwarded to the States Attorney.

01/13/14 11:17 – A deputy investigated a report of a citizen receiving a fraudulent check claiming to be a lottery prize. The citizen and deputy recognized the check to be a common lottery scam and no money was lost.

01/13/14 13:25 – An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail after a 24/7 program violation there.

01/13/14 14:18 – Deputies responded to Wakonda to assist in removing a person from the property of another. The suspect person had left before the deputies arrived.

01/13/14 19:46 – A deputy responded to a report of a dispute between a vehicle owner and the owner of a residence along an alley in Vermillion. The property owner had reportedly struck the vehicle with his fist for driving in the alley.

01/14/14 00:17 – A caller reported an 18-year-old man was talking to her 14-year-old daughter through her bedroom window. The man ran from the area but his identity is known. The matter is under investigation.

01/14/14 11:56 – An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail after being arrested for a Clay County warrant.

01/14/14 14:38 – A patient was transport from the emergency room to the Human Services Center in Yankton for an involuntary mental health committal.

01/15/14 15:07 – A deputy responded to a 911 hang-up call in Burbank. It was found that a child had been playing with a phone and there was no emergency.

01/15/14 18:22 – A deputy observed a car operating with a headlight out. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was informed of the problem.

01/15/14 19:28 – An inmate was transported from the Minnehaha County Jail in Sioux Falls to the Clay County Jail for a court appearance.

01/16/14 00:09 – A rural resident reported a vehicle was stolen in Yankton and recovered but the keys were missing. The key ring included house keys so extra patrol was requested at the residence.

01/16/14 08:13 – A deputy located a wanted person in Vermillion. The warrant was served and bond was collected.

01/16/14 11:00 – While continuing the investigation of an 18-year-old man contacting a 14-year-old girl, a deputy served him a protection order requiring no further contact.

01/16/14 13:16 – Two inmates were transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail for court appearances.

01/16/14 13:16 – A patient was transported from protective custody in the jail to the Human Services Center in Yankton for an involuntary mental health committal.

01/17/14 14:18 – A female inmate was transported to the Minnehaha County Jail and a male inmate was transported to the SD State Penitentiary after they were sentenced for their crimes in Clay County.

01/17/14 15:42 – A deputy assisted a Vermillion police officer with a traffic stop of a wanted person. The man was arrested and transported to the Clay County Jail.

01/18/14 00:17 – A deputy assisted a Highway Patrol trooper on a traffic stop on the Highway 50 Bypass of a vehicle in which a wanted person was present. The man was arrested on the warrant and transported to the jail.
