Lion’s Club President Mick Breske (left) presented long-time member Keith Joy with the distinguished Melvin Jones Fellowship, the highest honor awarded within the club.
The special event took place on Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Vermillion Lions Club’s annual Christmas party.
Joy has been a member of the local club for more than 35 years, and has been very active in many projects and activities, including leadership roles in their annual Christmas Box Project and USD Sports Event Project. He is also an anchor in the club’s main fundraiser “Pancake Days,” which is held twice a year to supplement many club activities.
The Fellowship recipient is selected by a special committee that follows a voting process, choosing from the clubs entire membership.
Joy has been an asset and an inspiration to the local club in Vermillion, and well deserving of this award.
