Tanager grapplers 4th in Brandon Invite

BRANDON – Huron won the 18-team Dan Pansch/Jesse James Invitational wrestling tournament Sat., Jan. 11. Vermillion was in the mix, placing 4th in the team standings.

The Tanagers were again led by championships by Regan Bye (21-0) at 145 lbs. and Brett Bye (21-0) at 152 lbs. Bye pinned all four of his opponents, scoring the maximum possible point for the team.

Alex Osborne (170 lbs.) and Seth Heine (182 lbs.) placed 2nd by winning 3 matches before losing in the championship match. Trey Hage (106 lbs.) and Carter Kratz (132 lbs.) placed 3rd by winning two matches, losing their third match, then winning two more matches.

Brandon Hertz (160 lbs.) placed 4th by going 3-2 for the tournament. Jacob Husby (120 lbs.) and Noah Walker (138 lbs.) placed 8th by going 2-3 over the two days.

The grapplers next travel to Madison on Jan. 14, then to the Harrisburg Invite on Jan 18.
