SIOUX FALLS – Two Vermillion youths answered the challenge at the “Beat the House Youth Scholarship Tournament” at Sport Bowl of Sioux Falls. Both Ryan Brunick and Brett Hansen beat all three members of the house.

Scholarship accounts were set up for college expenses for any player who beat the house players. The house was made up of Jeremy Sonnenfeld, Bryan Parker and Dave Parker. Sonnenfeld and Parker are co-owners of Sport Bowl, and Sonnenfeld is the first bowler with a sanctioned 900 series and former Team USA member.

The high qualifier for the day was Hansen with a personal high scratch series 709, while Brunick had a 639 scratch series. Ryan Brunick won the most scholarship money with $375, while Brett Hanson won $275, and Kodie Lovejoy won $55. Collin Lovejoy placed 13 out of 29 competitors, but did not ear any scholarship.
